About people
Like most of its counterparts Cambridgeshire has had its share of famous people. Some of these are described in this section. Mainly though Cambridgeshire was and is essentially an agricultural community supported by the main fraternity of farmers and agricultural labourers.
There were many other occupations throughout the country and these have to a greater degree been described here but any new ones will be willingly accepted for inclusion. The Fens had their boatmen and peat diggers, Peterborough had its brickworks and for some years Cambridgeshire had its coprolite industry with its associated diggers.
